Marisa is a seasonal cheese made from pasteurized milk of Wisconsin sheep by Sid Cook of Carr Valley Cheese Co. It is named after Sid Cook's daughter.
This dense and firm cheese is white in colour with mellow, complex and sweet flavours that are quite typical of sheep milk cheeses. It was awarded 2nd Place at the 2011 U.S. Championship Cheese Contest. Accompany the cheese with Chianti, Pinot Grigio and lighter Lagers to enhance its flavours.
Marisa is also available in aged, cave aged and smoked varieties.
